He came with subtlety and introduced himself, first name Anxiety, I believe.
Being isolated and vulnerable, she entertained him briefly.
Then she continued with life, hard choices, responsibilities and attempts at finding a career.
Then the role of being a mother and a homemaker…day after day.
The cooking, homework, disciplining and finances…or lack there of.
He returned, and she, caught up with the busyness and overwhelming struggles of life…
She invited him in once again. He bought a gift this time. A cellphone.
And being grateful, she allowed time to escape her.
In his charm, the conversation went on for hours.
Unaware of his schemes, she was consumed and easily enticed.
Just as he had planned it; unbeknownst to her. Exactly as he had planned it.
The next day, she revisited their conversations. She was replaying all of her heart issues that she’d shared.
All the things that were weighing her down, all the areas in which she felt like a failure.
He leaned in. He listened intently. Giving her attention and pretending to be interested.
Then he had her. Right where he wanted her. And in her vulnerability, he moved in.
Depression moved in.
And what did he do next? Without missing a beat, he preyed on her daughter.
Two out of three and he was thrilled with himself. He had accomplished a great task.
Although one had gotten away, he took the two as a win.
But what he is unaware of, in his narcissism, is that he has been found out.
In his bragging and boasting, his true identity was unveiled.
Because she welcomed him in, the eviction will be difficult but not impossible.
Someone who cares very deeply for her is working on an arrest warrant.
He has been under intense investigation, and he is soon to be apprehended.
And because of his craftiness and his prior history, he is being closely monitored.
Many more have come forward with similar complaints on how he too manipulated them.
Soon, very soon, Mr. Depression will be publicly exposed and permanently eliminated!!!
