Prose : A Costly Love

Yes, love will cost us something…

Last night’s Dateline story was utterly profound. And a clear example and demonstration on what the human heart does for love. Trying in every possible way to fill a void and to be totally accepted.

Love will eventually cost us something. Without fail, when we go in; seeking to be known, secure, made whole and accepted, it comes at a price. A price that we were not prepared to pay beforehand.

If we knew the sacrifice, the high price, all in advance, we would immediately say, “No!” At least I’d like to believe that. But then again, we humans desperately crave love. Life proves it each and every day. Take the focus off yourself briefly, and with intentionality, look around. Society is scandalously in search of love.

After watching last night’s episode, my spirit whispered this to my Savior! “I’d rather kiss my Bible each and every day, then to kiss a man who is not my husband.” I’d rather kiss the holy word of God, then to kiss someone God has not specifically assigned, gifted and created for me.

Being single is such an amazing gift I never knew I wanted! All my life craving love and all the while it was in plain sight! And yes, it cost Him everything!

Seek this love and embrace this love! He’s already paid your price, for all of eternity!!! John 3:16-21.
