A Discerning Ear

As I was listening to the news describe a woman as a songtress of our time, I immediately thought about poetry.

I remember discovering my absolute love for poetry and quietly ascribing the word poetress to my identity.

From those two words the “…ess” stanzas began dancing inside my brain along with the ongoing destructiveness around us.

How our society is so engulfed in its own selfishness that the vulnerable and innocent are reaping the devastating sorrows.

The absolute priceless gift of human life is no longer a concern for so many but is now completely expendable.

Gone is the selflessness of the average human being and has since been replaced with a blatant preservation of self.

Happiness and immediate gratification is the higher agenda verses the looking out for thy neighbor and simply loving without a reward.

Hopelessness is lingering in every other heart and being magnified as communication is rarely face to face but solely virtual.

If only it were natural instinct for the flesh to desire simple goodness for others and strive to sin-less.

But every soul dwells in complete emptiness because of the lack of communion with our Creator.

Why are we willing to move throughout the universe as orphans when HE wants to be a Father to the fatherless?

Until we move from a posture of pride and a life of prayerlessness into a posture of humility, a dire dependency on the God of heaven and earth, there will be a barenness in the nations.

BUT if/when we choose to enter into a personal relationship with His Beloved Son, the immediate and eternal righteousness of Jesus Christ can be ours.
